Jazz Rooted in Tradition. Lyrics for Today.

Lora Sherrodd is a Philadelphia-based jazz vocalist, lyricist, and composer whose music brings the language of straight-ahead jazz together with the storytelling of a contemporary singer-songwriter. Her original lyrics explore relationships, identity, aging, power, and the absurdities of everyday life with equal parts wit and heart.

A DownBeat Student Music Award-winning vocalist, Lora has performed at venues including Chris' Jazz Café, South Jazz Kitchen, World Cafe Live, and the Kimmel Center.
